Eating disorders involve disordered thoughts, behaviors, and feelings around food and body. Feelings of shame, anger, and despair are common for people who have issues with food. Anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder are well-known eating disorders, but obsessive thinking and compulsive behaviors around eating take on numerous forms.
Choices Counseling Center offers treatment for those wishing to recover from an eating disorder. We focus on many of our weekly groups and monthly seven-day programs on psychoeducation and the connection between mental health and our relationship with food. Many Choices clients choose to follow a food plan promoted by the American Medical Association for freedom from food addiction.
